After attending my first class and reading the related syllabus, I found out that this course has very challenging materials. And for me as a competitive person I really want to achieve the impossible. Net-Centric Economics is totally a new field for me, but, I always have been fascinated with the new fields especially in technology. In general, I always have the urge to learn more and study hard, so, I believe I am in the right place. In the future, I really want to work in the media but after knowing a great deal about this field. Knowing about the information economy and information technology will help me a lot to be on track building up my career. I didn’t know before that the digital technologies have a huge effect on economy and media industry. I was really amazed by the fact that the new technology affects competition, concentration, communication, and on the society in general. In this course, we are required to read four books, which I believe is fascinating due to the fact that I’ll know more about how people in this field think and how they translate their thoughts into practical and useful out comings. Also, I believe analyzing the required books’ components will help me to have a deep thinking, and definitely it will change my way of looking at things in the future.
Of course as a woman from a different culture, I believe I can contribute to the new movement that is happening nowadays in the Middle East regarding women’s labor in the Media. Working in this field is absolutely new especially for women, I believe that I could excel in this area, and, also I could encourage other women too; that’s why I will do my best to learn more in order to be very effective member in my world. Women in the Middle East have to learn more about the rising fields in the contemporary world to expand their knowledge on one side and to depend and believe on themselves on another side rather than depending on the male figure. My ultimate goal is to see women are working in the media very effectively side by side with men and maybe exceed them in many different and challenging areas. I also would like to participate in adding what the media of the Middle East is really lacks by improving some methods or adopting some techniques that is used in the present media around the world. The new technology that is adopted in the contemporary media has a great influence on individuals and society in general; therefore, I would like to use this technology in spreading new values and perspectives to the Arab world.
